Getting Girls Back into the Classroom in Remote Areas
Date & Time:Thursday, October 9 (Date change due to Yom Kippur), 8 pm ET/5 pm PT
Guest Speaker: Kayce Anderson PhD, Executive Director & Kate Lapides-Black, Director of Communications at For the Good
In remote regions of southern Kenya, many girls are unable to attend school due to poverty, long travel distances, and lack of access to basic resources like menstrual supplies and health education. Without education, these girls face limited opportunities and are more vulnerable to early marriage and gender-based violence.
Together Women Rise is proud to support For the Good and its Naikarra Expansion project, which is breaking down these barriers by building classrooms, providing reusable menstrual pads, and offering vital health education on menstrual hygiene and reproductive rights. The program also empowers girls with leadership, conservation, and problem-solving skills, equipping them to shape their own futures and strengthen their communities.
Join us to hear from a guest speaker from For the Good and learn how your support is helping girls in Kenya return to the classroom, stay in school, and unlock their potential. This event is free, but registration is required. All are welcome!
