Mission of Imagine Her
Imagine Her’s mission is to prepare rural young women and youth to become thriving social entrepreneurs.

Summary
Women in rural Kibuuku District of Uganda face high unemployment, energy poverty, and limited access to technical training — challenges compounded by climate change, gender inequality, and poverty. This grant supports Imagine Her’s Green Energy Lab which equips rural young women with renewable energy technology skills, resources, and mentorship so they become leaders in clean energy and agribusiness.

Why We Love This
By building green social ventures and leadership capacity, the Green Energy Lab strengthens women’s economic independence while advancing climate resilience in last-mile communities. The Green Energy Lab provides practical, hands-on training that leads directly to employment and income growth, while addressing urgent challenges of energy poverty and food insecurity in rural Uganda. It uses a peer-led and alumni-driven approach that ensures lasting engagement and sustainability, and a locally-led model, staffed by women and youth from these same communities, that embodies authentic ownership and trust. This initiative not only opens pathways to independence and opportunity but also positions women as innovators and leaders in clean energy and agribusiness.
