Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life. To ensure that Together Women Rise’s philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors to Together Women Rise can have full confidence in Together Women Rise and the nonprofit organizations and causes Together Women Rise chooses to support, we declare that all donors to Together Women Rise have these rights:
- To be informed of Together Women Rise mission, of the way Together Women Rise intends to use donated resources, and of Together Women Rise’s capacity to use donations effectively for the intended purposes.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on Together Women Rise’s governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to Together Women Rise’s most recent audited financial statements.
- To be assured their gifts to Together Women Rise will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition from Together Women Rise.
- To be assured that information about their donations to Together Women Rise is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that all relationships between Together Women Rise and organizations (including individuals representing those organizations) supported by Together Women Rise will be professional in nature.
- To be informed whether those seeking donations on behalf of Together Women Rise are volunteers, employees of Together Women Rise or hired solicitors.
- To be assured that personal contact information will not be sold or shared for marketing purposes by Together Women Rise.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation to Together Women Rise and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
