Our Member Travel Program

Together Women Rise’s Travel Program provides meaningful and inspirational travel experiences for our members. These trips offer opportunities for members to connect face-to-face with our grantees and the women and girls we serve. Our goal is that these experiences will deepen our members’ understanding of the issues facing women and girls in the developing world, especially the women we support, while fostering strong bonds of friendship with travelers.

Together Women Rise’s exclusive travel provider is Elevate Destinations, based in Cambridge MA, which specializes in designing and implementing travel programs for nonprofit organizations while empowering and respecting the local destinations. It is a female-owned and operated social enterprise with a strong commitment to sustainability practices and gender issues.

Together Women Rise works with Elevate Destinations to select trip destinations that are of interest to our members and allow visits to Together Women Rise grantees. We are committed to offering unique travel experiences at a variety of price points in order to appeal to as many of our members as possible.

Visiting Together Women Rise Grantees

Together Women Rise members interested in visiting one of our grantees are encouraged to participate in a Together Women Rise sanctioned trip through Elevate Destinations. On occasion, our members are interested in connecting with grantees when they are traveling on their own. Some of our grantees have their own visitor/volunteer models and are well-equipped to handle tourists.  For others, accommodating visitors can cause undue hardship because of their limited staff and resources. Together Women Rise has developed some guidelines that will help to minimize any hardship on our grantees while allowing our members to connect face-to-face with the women and girls we serve.

2026 TRIPS

Join Together Women Rise for an incredible journey to India, where you will visit and interact with four of the organizations that Rise has supported:

• Noora Health – Aims to improve outcomes and strengthen health systems by equipping family caregivers with the skills they need to care for their loved ones.

• Edu-Girls – Enables girls living in extreme poverty to achieve financial independence through customized quality education, vocational training, and college scholarships.

• Anchal Project – Leverages design and collaboration to create sustainable, income-generating careers in eco-friendly textiles for marginalized women in India.

• GRAVIS – Addresses the health aspects of women and girls with a specific focus on their sexual and reproductive health status.

Alongside these deeply impactful grantee visits, you will also be immersed in India’s rich and diverse history — from the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Delhi and Jaipur to the timeless splendor of the Taj Mahal in Agra. Explore the storied streets of Jodhpur, known as the Blue City, browse the bustling markets of Jaipur, and take part in an interactive cooking session that offers a flavorful introduction to India’s vibrant culinary traditions and layered cultural heritage. Wendy Frattolin, Communications and Membership Director, will be the Together Women Rise representative on this trip.

  • Visit Together Women Rise grantees, including Noora Health, Edu-Girls, Anchal Project, and Gravis Project, and learn about their work and missions to empower women and girls in India.
  • Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Delhi as you explore its rich Mughal heritage and discover the city’s most renowned landmarks.
  • Spend time in Jaipur, visit the city’s vibrant markets, and support local artisans.
  • Participate in an elephant bathing experience at a tranquil wilderness camp outside Jaipur.
  • Transport back in time with a tour of the historic Blue City in Jodhpur, famed for its blue-painted houses, historic Mehrangarh Fort, and vibrant Rajasthani culture.
  • Take a guided tour of the iconic Taj Mahal, a magnificent tribute from Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan to his wife, and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

Together Women Rise invites you to embark on a powerful and immersive journey to Uganda—a land of lush landscapes, vibrant culture, and bold community-led change. This is more than a trip; it’s an opportunity to witness the impact of your generosity and connect with the women and girls whose lives are being transformed through Rise’s mission for global gender equality.

During the trip, you’ll visit three inspiring organizations that Rise has supported:

  • Growth Through Learning – Providing full secondary school scholarships for underserved girls, including boarding, meals, books, and mentorship.
  • MindLeaps – Using dance to build cognitive and emotional skills among refugee and vulnerable youth, while equipping girls with sexual and reproductive health education.
  • Women’s Microfinance Initiative – Empowering rural women with village-level loans and business training to grow sustainable livelihoods.

Beyond these meaningful grantee visits, you’ll explore Uganda’s vibrant cities and stunning landscapes. Discover the cultural richness of Kampala with visits to the King of Buganda’s palace and the Old Kampala Mosque. Experience a traditional dance performance at the Ndere Centre, and shop at local craft markets. In Jinja, enjoy a serene boat cruise to the source of the Nile River, the world’s longest, and relax along its scenic banks. Beverley Francis-Gibson, CEO, will be the Together Women Rise representative on this trip.

Rise members have priority booking until September 1, 2025. Rise members are those who have donated in the last year. If spots remain, registration will then be available for non-Rise members starting on September 2, 2025. The registration deadline is March 12, 2026.
