Summary
The Girls in Conservation program tackles education inequalities in Rwanda, gives girls opportunities outside the classroom, and promotes careers in conservation. This initiative selects aspiring female students in the secondary schools and provides them with life skills and practical conservation lessons; a female mentor living and working around Volcanoes National Park (VNP) in Rwanda; and a scholarship to continue their advanced level education in government-awarded boarding schools around Rwanda. The goal of this program is to increase school attendance, educational attainment, and paid opportunities for post-secondary school.
