Kenya 2012 trip diary: Communities of females
Over the past few days our group has been on a number of game drives in the Samburu region in addition to visiting local communities that are served by programs funded by Dining for Women. Reflecting upon all I’ve seen and experienced, I’m struck by how communities of females are so prevalent and important no matter the species. Elephants travel in herds of females, lions gather in prides of females, and here we humans too are travelling and gathering in groups of women – building bonds, lifelong friendships and communities, and helping one another to live more empowered richer lives.
