Serves Makes 1 ½ cups
Ingredients
This is a new twist on that old favorite, Lipton’s Onion Dip. Adding in the freshly chopped green onion gives it the subtle onion flavor, and any additional herbs that you might have hanging around the fridge can go into this as well. Parsley, dill, cilantro, thyme – all of them would work. You can purchase Everything Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joe’s, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you can find it in more places now. If you can’t find it you can easily make your own, see recipe below.
Ingredients
8 oz. cream cheese, softened at room temperature
¾ cup sour cream, or Greek yogurt
3 green onions, chopped
1 small clove garlic, minced very finely
2 tbsp. plus 1 tsp. Everything Bagel seasoning
minced herbs, optional
Assorted bagel chips, pita chips, breadsticks and crackers for serving
Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning
1 tbsp. poppy seeds
1 tbsp. white sesame seeds
1 tbsp. black sesame seeds
1 tbsp. dehydrated garlic (the chips, not garlic powder)
1 tbsp. dehydrated onion (the chips, not onion powder)
2 teaspoons kosher salt
Combine, store in a sealed container.
Directions
Beat the cream cheese in a bowl with a wooden spoon until smooth. This should be easy to do if the cream cheese is at room temperature. Stir in the sour cream or yogurt until smooth again. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
Turn out into a serving platter and arrange crackers around it. Sprinkle with a bit of additional bagel seasoning and herbs, if using.
