Mission of WOW! Work of Women
To improve women's lives in poor, rural villages throughout the world.

Summary
World Neighbors is an international development organization striving to eliminate hunger, poverty and disease in some of the most isolated, rural villages in Asia, Africa and Latin America. A membership organization at World Neighbors, WOW! (Work of Women) mobilizes people in support of efforts to improve lives of women and their families in villages where World Neighbors works. WOW! does this through education and raising awareness, advocacy, involvement activities, and financial donations from members. Dining for Women (DFW) will support WOW's initiatives in several of Bolivia's and Peru's poorest regions. The project fosters inter-community learning in Peru and initiates pilot projects, primarily with women, which find solutions to a critical, basic need problems in Peru and Bolivia.

Why We Love This
Currently, over 500,000 people benefit from World Neighbors’ 70 programs in 15 countries. World Neighbors does not give away food or material aid. The organization invests in people and their communities so they may create their own life-changing solutions through programs that combine agriculture, literacy, water, health and environmental protection. Simply growing enough food does not ensure that people, especially women, are able to improve their nutrition, without efforts to address gender inequalities. Increasing women’s status and decision-making power in their homes and communities are two of the most effective ways to reduce poverty and hunger. WOW! believes, "by joining together in this work, our individual efforts are multiplied and truly create change," and DFW is proud to be a creator of such change.
